NFF lines up 10 friendlies for Super Eagles

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has disclosed that the Super Eagles will prosecute
no fewer than 10 grade A international friendly matches in 2015, assuring that the federation will shop for countries to engage the Eagles in all the FIFA windows next year.
Answering questions from journalists at the Glass House recently, the General Secretary of the federation, Barrister Musa Amadu, who declined to make any comment on the future of the Eagles technical crew, assured that the soccer federation was committed to ensuring that they return Nigeria to its glorious soccer days.
On the plans and programmes of the senior national team, Amadu said: “Instead of talking about personal issues, I would rather prefer we talk about the efforts the NFF is making to bring back the glory of the national teams.”
“Next year there is going to be FIFA windows, at least about 10 of them. We intend to fill those windows with quality friendly matches. The coaching crew will use the matches to look at players that will bring back the lost glory of Nigerian football.
“We also know that the home-based Super Eagles will be involved in CHAN qualifiers and from what we saw in their match against the Black Meteors of Ghana during the inauguration of the Akwa-Ibom International Stadium, we have the potentials of raising a good team to do us proud when the CHAN qualifiers begin. This is a transition period, and we have to be focused to ensure that the Eagles bounce back. The NFF will work hard to give all the necessary technical and logistic support to the team and its technical crew, though, I have nothing to say about the technical crew,” he said.
Amadu equally spoke on the invited foreign-based U-23 players that had not received correspondence to come home, declaring: “You need to ask the secretary of the team whether such letters have been communicated to their foreign clubs.”
“Don’t also forget that when we are talking about invitations of professional football players to camp, these clubs are not obliged to release the players for camping, trainings or matches unless the invitation falls within the FIFA window,” he assured.
On the Dream Team VI playing quality friendly matches, Amadu said: “Quality friendly proposed by the chief coach, Siasia, and I want to make it clear that as soon as we receive that request, we will put the machinery in motion to organize matches for him. Don’t also forget that the U-23 team is the second most important national team after the Super Eagles.”
“We have qualifiers for the All African Games and the Olympic Games, we will do everything possible to ensure that we give support to these teams, including the Super Falcons. Certainly, 2015 is going to be a very busy year and a year we will try as much as possible to excel in these various competitions. Let me also said that the federation is not aware of the refusal of the players to train because of unpaid allowances and we will handle it when we receive official information,” he added.
