A #300level Student of UNILAG attempt suicide as a Result of Heartbreak.

 

 A 24 year old student, Fredrick Mbam of University of Lagos, UNILAG Stabbed himself in a friend’s hostel at Ikeja, Lagos on Saturday 12^th July after his girlfriend left him. According to Fredrick’s friend whom he confided in, related the story to one of our reporters. He said that”Fredrick met the girl four years ago and was madly in love with her. They hooked up and dated each other. They were so in love that everyone saw them as perfect couple which prompted the name “love birds”.

 Surprisingly, the girl started acting strange, she avoided him physically, refused to pick his call or even call. On Saturday evening Fredrick told his younger sister that Cynthia has been avoiding him. But his younger sister from what he told her, advised him to try and see Cynthia so they could sort things out. Fredrick took the sister’s advice but on getting to Cynthia’s place, all he could get was embarrassment, asking him to leave her alone that she is done with him and that the relationship was over between both of them, she even warned Fredrick never to come to her house again.

 According to his friend, Fredrick visited him that evening looking dejected, confused and frustrated. The friend consoled him, telling him to take things easy that they will resolve the problem. ”After calming Fredrick down for some hours, he went out to a nearby shop to get a bottle of water but on getting back he was shocked to see him in a pool of blood with a kitchen knife in his hand. Immediately he raised an alarm, calling his neighbor to come to his rescue. Luckily and with the help of God through his neighbors Fredrick was rushed to the nearest hospital where he managed to escape from the cold hands of death.

 But my QUESTION is this: Is taking your own life because of a BREAKUP Right? Just as Mr. Fredrick attempted to do.
