Soldiers raid, kill 50 insurgents

The tide of the ongo­ing military expe­dition to flush out Boko Haram insurgents, who had taken control of certain towns in the North East part of the country began to turn yesterday when soldiers raided and killed 50 Boko Haram insurgents their hide-out in Kawuri. Defence sources disclosed that the insurgents had massed in the town in preparation for an attack on Konduga. It was gath
ered that the army captured one fabricated artillery gun, two anti-aircraft guns, armoured vehicle and assorted types of ammunition after routing the insurgents. Also destroyed in the raid carried out by soldiers were some hardware, weapons, food items, and personal be­longings. Shalloma's Blog further learnt that one officer and two sol­diers were seriously wounded during the raid.
