2015: Ambode will sustain my legacy, says Fashola

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola yesterday said he was  sure that the gubernatorial flagbearer of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Akinwunmi Ambode will build on the legacy of his administration,  if he is elected governor of the state.

The governor ,who spoke at the public presentation of the Lagos State Development Plan (LSDP) at the Banquet Hall, State House, Ikeja said the plan, expected to run from 2012-2025 will depend  on the ingenuity  of  successive administrations to implement the economic  policies his administration is bequeathing to Lagosians.
Fashola,  who said  some of the components of the plan were already being implemented by his administration,  however, said his successor  will be saddled with the responsibility of running with the vision and see to its complete implementation.
He  expressed optimism that Ambode will build on his legacies going by his experience  as accountant general of the state from 2007 to 2012, which  puts him in a better stead to carry on, when his tenure ends on May 29 next year.
Fashola  said the state is too important to be left in the hands of those who intend to experiment on the job,  stressing that being part of the Bola Tinubu administration helped him to start on a good footing.
His words, “I can reveal to you today, one of the things that helped me most from the first day I took this job was that from the day I arrived office, I knew the Head of Service by name and by face, I knew all of the permanent secretaries who were going to work with me by name and by face, and I knew almost all the directors who were going to work with me by name and by face and I knew how this government works, because I was part of the team that made it work”.
He  revealed that Ambode was also part of the brains behind the LSDP at the birth of the plan in 2009.
